From Monday 11 May 2026, the allpay app and allpay Internet Payments portal will no longer be available.
To avoid any disruption to your rent or other payments, you’ll need to move to the new allpayments system.

  • You can sign in using your existing details, or set up a new account if you haven’t used allpayments before

Key Responsibilities:

As Head of Finance & IT, you will provide inspirational leadership and expert direction across all finance and IT functions. You will: 

  • Lead, motivate and develop highperforming teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement. 

  • Oversee all financial operations, including management accounts, statutory accounts, treasury management, financial controls, and regulatory returns. 

  • Ensure WHA maintains a robust, stresstested longterm financial business plan aligned to strategic objectives. 

  • Provide governance assurance through strong compliance, risk management, internal controls, and highquality reporting to the Management Committee and subcommittees. 

  • Lead the strategic development and operational management of WHA’s IT systems, digital infrastructure and cyberresilience, ensuring technology supports modern, efficient service delivery. 

  • Drive value for money, innovation, and digital transformation across the organisation. 

This is a role for a forwardthinking leader who can balance strategic vision with operational delivery, ensuring WHA remains financially strong, digitally capable, and wellpositioned for the future. 

 

About you:

We are looking for a confident, collaborative and influential leader who brings:  

  • Full professional accountancy membership (ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW, CIPFA or CIMA). 
  • Significant experience in a senior finance role, with strong technical accounting expertise. 
  • Proven experience in financial planning, treasury management, risk management and performance reporting. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive organisational improvement. 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly to nonspecialists. 
  • Highlevel IT competence and experience in IT or systems management (desirable). 
  • A commitment to WHA’s values of openness, accountability, equality, and continuous improvement. 

Experience in the housing, charitable or public sector is desirable but not essential.

WHA are a member of the Scottish Housing Associations’ Pension Scheme with options of DC pension schemes for incoming employees to choose from. The rates which will be on offer from 6th April 2026 will be:

  • Scheme 1: Employee 3% / Employer 6%
  • Scheme 2: Employee 5% / Employer 10%
  • Scheme 3: Employee 8% / Employer 13%

Scheme 3 will increase at a 1% incremental rate (for both Employer and employee) on an annual basis until it reaches 10% Employee and 15% Employer contribution rates to April 2028.

Walking for a Cause Close to Our Hearts

Williamsburgh team proudly took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk – 14.5 mile Big Stroll, raising money for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, in loving memory of Graham Scott.

The hospice provides incredible care and support to individuals and families during some of the most difficult times in their lives, and we were honoured to support the vital work they do.

It was a fantastic day for the team, and we’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, shared our fundraiser and cheered us on — every contribution, no matter the size, truly makes a difference.

Changes to you Rent

The Management Committee has approved a rent increase of 8.5%, following consultation with tenants. This increase is essential to allow us to continue investing in your homes and communities, while maintaining the services we provide.

All tenants should now have received a letter confirming your new rent charge from 28 March 2026.

What You Need to Do

If you pay by Housing Benefit

You do not need to take any action.
If your circumstances have changed, please call 0300 300 0204.

If you pay by Universal Credit

Please update your housing costs on your UC journal on Saturday 28 March 2026.
If you have a telephone claim, call 0800 328 5644 on Monday 30 March 2026 to report your new rent.
You will need your rent letter when calling.

If you pay by Direct Debit

You will receive a letter or email in March confirming your new Direct Debit amount.

If you have a payment arrangement with us

Please increase your payments to include the new rent amount.

Help with Paying Your Rent

You may be entitled to Universal Credit or Housing Benefit to help with your rent. We can also support you with affordable payment arrangements.

Staying informed so you can stay in control of your finances

As we move into the new financial year, several changes to rent, benefits and financial support may affect your household budget. We’ve pulled together the key updates to help you understand what’s changing and what you may need to do.

Rent and Benefit changes April 2026

Rent Increases

From April, your rent may increase.
If your benefits don’t cover the full amount, you’ll need to pay the difference.

Make sure you update your details:

  • Universal Credit:
    Report the change to your housing costs through your UC journal.
  • Housing Benefit:
    Contact Renfrewshire Council to update your claim as soon as the change takes effect.

Updating your information promptly helps keep payments accurate and prevents arrears.

Changes to Universal Credit

Transitional Protection

If you receive transitional protection, this may reduce if your income or housing costs increase. Our team can help you check whether this affects you.

LCWRA Replaced by the Health Element (from 6 April)

The Limited Capability for Work and Work‑Related Activity (LCWRA) element (around £423 per month) is being replaced with a lower Health Element (around £217 per month) for people newly assessed after 6 April 2026.

If you currently receive LCWRA, this change does not apply to your existing award.

Support for Families in Scotland

Scottish families affected by the two‑child limit may now receive additional support for children who were previously excluded.
This additional payment can help with:

  • food and essential items
  • clothing and school costs
  • childcare

If you’re unsure whether this applies to your family, we can help check.

Extra Support You May Be Able to Access

There are several sources of additional help:

  • Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP):
    Short‑term assistance if your rent isn’t fully covered.
  • Energy vouchers:
    Help with rising energy costs for eligible households.
  • Charitable grants:
    Support from local and national charities for essential items and emergencies.

Helping our community stay warm, informed and financially secure

Over the past year our Financial Wellbeing Team has been working closely with tenants and staff to improve energy awareness, reduce household costs and connect people with the support they’re entitled to. Through a mix of group sessionsone‑to‑one appointments and strong partnership working, we’ve made a real difference to households across our communities.

Our team delivered a series of practical and easy‑to-follow sessions covering:

  • How to understand your energy bill
  • Reading and comparing tariffs
  • Making the most of smart meters
  • Simple ways to save energy at home
  • How to access emergency fuel vouchers during a crisis
  • Information on Scotland’s key support schemes, including:
    • Warm Home Discount
    • Winter Heating Payment
    • Child Winter Heating Payment
    • Pension Age Winter Heating Payment

We were delighted to work alongside Energy Action Scotland and Citizens Advice Scotland, who helped ensure tenants received the most accurate and up‑to‑date guidance.

Making a Real Difference 

Behind every session is a person or family who benefits from the right advice at the right time. Here are some recent successes:

  • £223.48 weekly income increase secured for a pension‑age couple after unclaimed benefits were identified
  • £909 reduction in rent arrears through a successful Discretionary Housing Payment application
  • Over £10,000 in backdated benefits awarded to a vulnerable tenant, clearing arrears and stabilising their tenancy
  • £1,284 in energy credits and corrections achieved after escalating an incorrect energy bill and disconnection

These outcomes show how vital early advice and specialist support can be in helping tenants stay on top of their finances and maintain secure homes.
