Auld Friends - Friends of Barshaw Community Garden

A big thank you to Alice from the Friends of Barshaw, who kindly welcomed us and shared her time and knowledge with the group. Thanks to her, we were able to make the most of the beautiful outdoor space, relax at the picnic benches, and enjoy some great company in the fresh air. 🙂

Food and refreshments were provided thanks to funding from the Winter Connections Grant, which made the day even more enjoyable for everyone.

During our visit, Alice gave us some fascinating insight into the history of the Peace Garden and explained how the Community Garden was set up. It was inspiring to learn how the space is run by dedicated volunteers and supported through grant funding to benefit the whole community.

It was a relaxed, social day filled with conversation, learning, and plenty of smiles. Everyone agreed it was a wonderful outing, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
