WHA Auld Friends Network - A Warm Welcome Every Monday
We were delighted to launch the WHA Auld Friends Network, a new weekly group aimed at bringing tenants together for friendship, conversation, and community connection.
The group met every Monday at 12pm in the WHA offices and was open to all tenants. Each week offered a relaxed and welcoming space where people could enjoy a coffee, a chat, and take part in a variety of engaging activities.
Over the weeks, we welcomed some fantastic guests and hosted a range of sessions, including:
A Safety Talk from Police Scotland, offering helpful advice on how to avoid scams and deal with rogue traders.
A creative afternoon with Laura from Aurora Art Studio, who led a beginner’s session in chalk and acrylic painting – perfect for those keen to try something new.
A hands-on gardening session with Friends of Barshaw Park, who showed us how to grow herbs and vegetables at home, even in small spaces.
The WHA Auld Friends Network quickly became a much-loved part of our weekly calendar, providing an opportunity for tenants to meet others, try new things, and feel more connected within the community.
